Ready to feel super poor and ugly?
Forbes has just released its annual list of the 10 highest-paid models in the biz, confirming yet again that it really pays to be beautiful–especially if you’re Gisele.
The supermodel made an absurd $42 million last year. And what’s even more absurd is that number is down from the previous year’s total of $45 million. It’s unfathomably unfair, but we do like the fact that she made $4 million more than her husband Tom Brady. Forbes credits her stake in Brazilian footwear company Grendene, earnings from her cosmetics line Sejaa, and international campaigns with Pantene, Oral-B and Sky HDTV. This year’s Chanel and H&M campaigns probably didn’t hurt either.

The salaries of the other models on the list seem paltry compared to Bundchen’s. Number two, Miranda Kerr, made $7.2 million–a significant jump from last year, when she made only $4 million.
The keys to making serious bank as a model seem to be expansion into international markets and Victoria’s Secret contracts. Even though the lingerie brand doesn’t pay its models as much as it used to, the exposure alone is so valuable.
Adriana Lima, who has the most lucrative Victoria’s Secret contract of all (she’s been an Angel the longest), nabbed the number three spot with $6 million. She’s followed by one of the list’s few non-Angels, Kate Moss, who made $5.7 million–$3.5 million less than last year.
The list’s new additions represent the new, diverse faces in fashion: Joan Smalls and Liu Wen–the latter nabbed the number five spot thanks largely to her ability to cash in on the booming Chinese market.
Two of 2013′s most visible faces–Karlie Kloss and Kate Upton–failed to break the top 10, but are expected to next year (as more lucrative deals inevitably come their way). Click through for the full list.
